Power Flushing

If you are finding that your heating system is not working as good as it used to and keeps cutting out or is not heating up as quickly as it should, then there could be a problem. It could be that your central heating system is full of contaminants that are preventing it to work properly. We have the perfect solution if this is the case for you.

One of the services that Dash Heating & Plumbing provide to our customers in Essex is Power Flushing. This is a procedure that will remove deposits of rust, sludge and any other debris from your central heating system. If you have a severe case of this, then a power flush is the only option available.

If you start to notice that there is excessive noise coming from your boiler or the heating system pump, your radiators are cold in certain areas but are warm in others, there is discoloured water when you bleed them or they do not heat up as quickly as they are supposed to then these are all definite signs that you will need your heating system flushed out.

The Process

Our aim is to restore the full circulation of water around your central heating system. To do this we need to remove anything that is causing your heating system to fail. Firstly, we will connect a powerful pumping unit that will pump a high strength cleansing chemical around your central heating system.

The chemicals that are used for this procedure are acid based. These chemicals will help to combat any debris present in the pipes, radiators and boiler. It also contains a descaler to break down any limescale and a sludge crust breaker that will get rid of the sludge in your pipe work. Once this has been pumped around, we will then replace the dirty water with clean, treated water. This will then be used to flush out your heating system, making sure there is no trace of acid left.

You will not be able to use your central heating while we are flushing out your heating system so it may be a good idea to have this carried out in the warmer months. Having said that, if you really do need to have this service done in the winter, it can take anywhere between 2 to 6 hours to be completed. Maybe longer if your central heating system is really bad but you will not have to be without heating for maybe more than half a day which is not too bad if it is really cold outside.

We do recommend that you also have this service carried out if you intend on connecting a new boiler to an old heating system. This is because any contaminants already present in your heating system will certainly damage the internal pipe work of your new boiler.
